Food, Glorious Food!

Several new food options will be available this year up and down Main St. There will be the traditional St John’s blueberry cobbler, the Boy Scouts’ apple cider donuts, the Hilltown Snowmobile Club’s Kielbasa grinders, corn chowder and sandwiches in the Congregational Church, Ashfield Rod and Gun Club chili, and apple pie with cheese at Town Hall. More food will be found at Elmer’s, The Community Hall and The Ashfield Hardware Store, including fried dough with maple cream. Bring your appetites.

Remember to bring a refillable water bottle and shopping bag to help reduce the use of single use plastics. There will be a water bottle filling station available, and organizations will be selling reusable water bottles and shopping bags.

This is a short compilation of video interviews at a fall festival in Ashfield, MA, in October 2006. I asked people what they had eaten, or what they were going to eat. Some of the responses were longer than others. Comments and critques welcome. Enjoy!
